Pastor’s Update

This Sunday in Exodus and the Women’s Event

Dear Bay Area Family,

I am excited to gather on Sunday to worship. We need to be in the presence of God together often. In fact, that is just what the message this Sunday is all about. We will continue our series in Exodus as we think about our relationship with God. We will focus on Exodus 25:1-8 and discuss the tabernacle and God’s plan to be with His people and for them to worship Him. We will learn an important freedom principle about the relationship we have with our Covenant God who shows us steadfast love.

Ladies, don’t forget to register for and attend the women’s event coming up October 7th called “Liberating Loneliness.” I am so excited about the panel of women from Bay Area Church who will share their stories and provide gospel insights for finding freedom from loneliness. Invite your friends and family. You can register at this link.

May God grant you much peace. See you Sunday.

To follow along with us visit www.bayarea.church/qna.

Israel Experience 2020: Registration is available for the May 30-June 10, 2020 Israel Experience. In 2006 Brian experienced the land of Israel and studied the biblical text in context for the very first time. It opened his eyes and changed him forever. He knew then he had to lead others to experience Israel with the Bible as their guide. Since then, he has led hundreds to walk the ancient paths of the Scripture and to discover the root of their faith in Christ. It is the experience of a lifetime and worth the investment. Please consider this amazing discipleship adventure. You can register at https://legacymilestones.com/event/2020-israel-study-tour/.

ServeLink: The TOP FOUR ways we’re asking you to serve on Sunday mornings: Kids, Students, Connections, and Tech Arts. To find out more about how you can serve in one of these areas you can go to www.bayarea.church/go, or download the Bay Area Church app and click serve.

MISSIONS

BLESSING THE BAY AREA  2019: For the first time, the event will be on a SATURDAY rather than a Sunday. The event date is Saturday, November 9. We believe this will allow for greater participation and not impose restrictions on the time frame needed to complete a project. Each LifeGroup is encouraged to brainstorm about possible projects and determine a plan of action to secure the project. The only restrictions for project choice is it must be in the 4B Area and you must not be serving a member of our church. The deadline to declare your project is Sunday, October 6and a form will be provided in your LifeGroup packet for that purpose. We have coordinated with the 4B Disaster Response Network to provide hurricane rebuild projects specifically for our groups on Saturday, November 9. If you are unable to locate a different project, you can default to work on a Harvey rebuild project. If you are not a member of a LifeGroup, you will have the opportunity to join with one in order to participate in this important service to the 4B Area. For additional info contact Kristy Mapp at kristy.mapp@bayarea.church.

BEAUMONT  DISASTER  RELIEF: Please consider a financial gift to aid in the disaster response to the recent flooding in the Beaumont area. During the month of October, we are asking folks to give to the needs of our neighbors to the east above your regular giving. So many people came to our help in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, now it is our turn to respond to their need. You can give online at: www.bayarea.church/give and choose the option for “Disaster Relief”.

First Saturday Serve: In cooperation with the 4B Disaster Response Network, the next First Saturday Serve is coming up on Oct 5. Consider joining other area churches as we assist families still dealing with the destruction of Hurricane Harvey over 19 months ago. For more info and to register to volunteer, go to:  www.4bresponse.org.

SENIOR ADULTS

Senior Connection: Thursday, Oct 17, at 10:30am, in the Student Center Café. Potluck luncheon for our Senior Adults who are 55 years and older. Senior Connection meets every first and third Thursday of the month for devotionals, fellowship, and activities.

STUDENTS

Student Midweek: Wednesday, 6:30-8:00pm in the Student Center.

Fall Serve Weekend is coming November 22-23. Be the hands and feet of Jesus this weekend as we serve the 4B area together! Cost is $50 per student and registration opens Monday, October 7 at www.bayarea.church/events.

KIDMIN
