Dear Bay Area Family,
This Sunday we will complete our “Gospel &” series by discussing the issue of Gospel and Culture. Pastor Zac will be preaching. I am excited to hear from him on this important issue. Patrick Lyle, who many of you already know, will be leading the musical part of our worship services this weekend. I am really grateful for Patrick, his wife Lindsey, and their family. What a gift they are to all of us at Bay Area Church and Christian School.
Thanks to all of you who served last weekend at Blessing the Bay Area, our annual church-wide service project. Here is what we did:
- 25 LifeGroups involved
- 19 different projects
- Approximately 550 participants
Types of projects:
- Visiting shut-ins
- Visiting senior adult healthcare facilities
- Visiting local hospital waiting rooms
- Serving at a Women’s shelter
- Providing yardwork for local family
- Providing a Thanksgiving meal for over 220 residents of a local apartment complex
- Providing a “Fall Festival” event sponsored by a partner Family Support Center
- Demo and clean up from water damage to the Family Support Center
- Demo and clean up from water damage to a private home
- Clean up and painting at a local church facility
- Clean up and landscape work at a therapeutic garden
- Assembling and distributing backpacks of personal items to Veterans
- Assembling and distributing backpacks of personal items to the homeless
- Preparation and distribution of lunches to our volunteers
- Harvey Recovery projects in area homes including
- Install flooring
- Finish carpentry and painting
- Clean up, repair and painting at a local youth baseball field
So thank you for being a church that loves your neighbor well. I can’t wait to gather this Sunday and worship our Lord together.

First Monday Prayer Meeting: December 2, at Noon, in the Equip Conference Room, on the second floor of the Preschool Building.
Christmas Eve Services: Tuesday, December 24, at 2:30, 4:00 and 5:30pm. Invite your friends and neighbors to come and celebrate Christmas with us. KidMin Classes available for ages birth-4 years. LifeGroups will not meet on December 22 or December 29.
Church offices will be closed Dec 24 at 1:00pm, Dec 25-27, and Dec 30-Jan 1.
Mighty Oaks Outpost Group Weekly Meeting: Mondays from 6:30-8:00pm in the Catalyst Room. The Outpost will not meet on December 23 and December 30.
New City Catechism: We’re posting one question and answer, with commentary by one of our pastors or leaders, each week for 2019. Our hope is that you will take the time each week to memorize these questions and answers in an effort to strengthen your biblical knowledge and to “always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” (1 Peter 3:15). Israel Experience 2020: Registration is available for the May 30-June 10, 2020 Israel Experience. In 2006 Brian experienced the land of Israel and studied the biblical text in context for the very first time. It opened his eyes and changed him forever. He knew then he had to lead others to experience Israel with the Bible as their guide. Since then, he has led hundreds to walk the ancient paths of the Scripture and to discover the root of their faith in Christ. It is the experience of a lifetime and worth the investment. Ho-Ho-Hoedown Student Christmas Party: Wednesday, December 11, 6:30-8:00 pm.
No Student Midweek: December 18, 25, and January 1.
