Series: A Study of Acts - Part Four: The Gospel to Asia Minor and Greece
Title: Lessons Learned from the Field
Text: Acts 14:1-28
1. How can it be helpful to learn from the experiences of others? Who have you learned from, and what is one lesson you learned from looking at the life of another person?
2. In Acts 14, people responded to the gospel in different ways. What are some different ways people can respond to the gospel of Jesus today? How can we respond to each of these when we encounter them?
3. Paul and Barnabas faced both opposition and success during their journey. Which do you think is more spiritually challenging for you personally: suffering/opposition or success/praise? Why?
4. Paul communicated the same gospel differently depending on his audience. Why is it important to understand people and their perspectives when sharing our faith? What are some practical ways we can do this well? How have you seen suffering for the gospel be used by God for His purposes?
5. Paul and Barnabas didn’t just seek decisions; they worked to make disciples by strengthening and encouraging believers. What’s the difference between simply believing in Jesus and growing as a disciple of Jesus? Who has helped disciple you, and who might God be calling you to encourage or disciple?
6. What is God saying to you this week? How will you respond?
