Title: The Purpose of Miracles
Text: Acts 5:12-16
1. What is the purpose of the miraculous healings in the book of Acts?
2. Do we experience miracles today? How is it the same? How is it different?
3. Do you have an experience in your life that you count as a miracle of God? Does it check out with Scripture?
4. In the sermon Pastor Brian listed three views of miracles:
- Cessationism. (Miracles have ceased after the work of the apostles)
- Continuism. (Miracles continue in the same way as they did in Acts to this day)
- Continuism with caution. (Miracles continue but must be tested according to the Scriptures.
As you understand Scripture, which viewpoint is correct? What are the potential problems with each view?
