KIDMIN:

IT’S TIME TO REGISTER FOR VBS 2018 – “GAME ON!” VBS is June 11-15, 2018 from 9am-Noon.  It’s for kids who are Entering Kindergarten (August 2018) through completed 6th grade (2017-2018 school year).  We also provide VBS for Babies – 4-year-old children if their parent is serving as a VBS Leader. VBS is 3 hours of learning, singing, dancing, and having fun with friends, while learning about scripture, and what our Great God has done for us through His son, Christ.

VBS Leaders are also needed!   We desire to provide a safe space for the 800+ kids we typically have during VBS. It is a huge responsibility and we don’t take it lightly. The BEST way to accomplish this is to have a solid connection with ALL our Leaders. PLEASE MAKE NOTE of our NEW policy for Bay Area Church VBS Leaders (volunteers): (Students, 14 years of age through Adults must complete our Background check.)

  • ADULTS:
    • VBS Adult Lead Teachers and Helpers must be members of Bay Area Church.
    • Adult Leaders in supporting roles are Members of Bay Area Church (or may be consistent Attenders)
  • STUDENT HELPERS (7th grade – 12th):
  • Student Helpers must be a part of Bay Area Church Student Ministry or Bay Area Christian School. Bay Area StuMin Staff and Bay Area Christian School Principals will provide approval for all student applicants. You may register online through May 31, 2018:  bayarea.church/vbs.

**PLEASE MAKE NOTE: There is an additional step for Student workers. Students (not the parents) must complete an online VBS Student Helper form preferably by May 15. Here is the link:  www.bayarea.church/check. You will be able to download a copy of the required background check (for 14 yrs and older) and also upload within the online form. Parents must also sign a background check if the student is 14-17 yrs of age.

Bay Area Church KidMin desires to minister to all children and their families. We are looking for willing hearts to serve children with special needs on Sunday Mornings. Currently, we partner a buddy to accompany the child in a classroom. In the near future, we will have 2 specially equipped “Champion’s Club” Classrooms, to minister more effectively to kids through 6th Grade. You don’t have to be professionally educated as a special needs teacher to be a buddy (or serve in Champion’s Club) – but those of you with this training would be extremely helpful to our ministry. Otherwise, if you are interested and passionate to serve with these kids – please email cherie.niscavits@bayarea.church for more information.
