Happy Thursday Church,
I pray these days find you walking with Christ in the center of his grace and peace. Here are 3 things you should think about as we head toward the weekend.
1) We are getting very close to concluding our search for a Pastor of Spiritual Formation, Lord willing. Our search team has made a selection and we are working through the final stages of the process to ensure we all understand how the Spirit of God is leading us. I am personally excited and also optimistically cautious. In truth, these are very important days for decision making on the part of the prospective pastor and his family . Please pray for the will of the Lord to be done.
2) I know that all of you have heard of the massacre that took place at FBC Sutherland Springs, Texas this week. Please be in prayer for the community and the church in the wake of such a senseless, demonic, tragedy. Please know that we take your security seriously. For the past several years we have had a team in place to be alert to and help us avoid potential threats to our people. You will probably notice the presence of a uniformed officer on our campus each Sunday morning beginning this weekend. This is another step we are taking to ensure the safety of you and your family as you come to worship. I surely wish we did not have to think about these things but we must. Please remember to pray for Pastor Frank Pomeroy and all the people of Sutherland Springs.
3) That being said, we are excited to gather for Worship at 9:30 and 11:00 this weekend. We will continue our series called, “Living It” from the book of James. We are expecting great things as we gather to worship our risen Savior.
