Bay Area Family,

This is an important season biblically. Today (Friday at Sundown) begins Jewish celebration of Rosh Hashanah described as the Feast of Trumpets in Leviticus 23. This begins 10 days of awe or repentance leading up to Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. As we continue to live out the craziness of 2020 I constantly ask the LORD to show me what He wants us to know and do in light of this unique season in our lives. Clearly God is leading His church and His people toward humility and repentance. So this year, we will join our Jewish friends in these 10 days of repentance observed annually for thousands of years.

On September 20 and 27 I’ll explain the Feasts of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement as detailed in Leviticus 23. Here’s a short video introduction.

We will further discuss in our LifeGroups. Then, for 10 days beginning Monday the 21st through Wednesday the 30th, I am calling each of us to daily, personal repentance. We have created a home guide for reading the Scripture and daily repentance so you and your family can engage. I suggest scheduling a time of personal reflection, confession, and repentance each day using the readings and the guide found here.

Join us each day at noon on our Bay Area Church FaceBook page for a short devotion and prayer on 10 Days of Repentance.

Why take the time to do this? There is nothing more important than reorienting your life in humility and repentance before King Jesus. Together we will find cleansing transformation causing us to walk in the power and favor of the Sovereign King of the Universe.

Gather with us this Sunday at 8:30, 10:00, or 11:30 for in person worship and groups or join us online at 8:30, 10:00, 11:30, or 5 PM, at www.bayarea.church/live. This will be a special season for our church. I expect worship will be powerful this weekend as we enter these 10 days of repentance with the blowing of the shofar.

I am very expectant. God moves as His people turn away from sin and self and toward Him.

I love you each,

Pastor Brian
