Dear Church,

You are on my mind as you are out in our mission field even now. According to the scripture, Christ came to seek and to save the lost. He has involved us in the same mission. I am praying you will have eyes to see the needs of people and the compassion of Christ to engage your neighbors and co-workers to meet those needs. This Sunday we will continue our series called “The Art of Neighboring” as we study an encounter Jesus had with a man named Levi in Luke 5:37-32.

This Sunday, we will remember the event impacting all of us one year ago: Hurricane Harvey. We learned of God’s mercy and provision during a very difficult season. Some of you are still going through it. We will have a special time of prayer over you. We will also have a card in the worship guide on Sunday giving you the opportunity to indicate any help still needed in the wake of the hurricane. If you would like to continue to help others re-build after Harvey, our multi-church initiative called the 4B Disaster Response Network will be partnering with Eight Days of Hope again October 13-20 for another week of re-build efforts. Everyone can serve. For more information and to volunteer, visit https://eightdaysofhope.com/register.

I pray you are blessed this week to know the peace of Christ.

All the best!

Pastor Brian
