Dear Bay Area Family,
I am excited to gather and experience the 4th Sunday of advent this weekend. Love is the theme. As I have contemplated the love that we experience and anticipate in Christ, I am overwhelmed. Join us to worship at 9:30 and 11:00 on Sunday.
Celebrate Christmas with us on Christmas Eve. We will have 3 family friendly services for you to choose from: 2:30, 4:00, and 5:30. This is always a very special time as we laugh, worship, and celebrate the birth of Jesus.
Finally, You are invited to a reception celebrating Connections and Missions Pastor John Eckeberger and his wife, Alisa, immediately following the 11:00 worship service on December 29th. The reception will be held across from the Volunteer Center in the church lobby. Make plans to attend and express gratitude and love for the Eckeberger family and their lasting impact on our church and community.
As mentioned before, John Eckeberger will be transitioning from his role here at Bay Area Church to become the Executive Director of the 4B Disaster Relief Network. The 4BDRN is a non-profit we were instrumental in developing in the immediate wake of Hurricane Harvey. For a little more than two years, John has served on the board of directors on behalf of Bay Area Church. He is a natural choice for Executive Director and will take the 4BDRN to the next level.
John and Alisa will continue as an important part of our family here at Bay Area Church. John will continue to lead his LifeGroup, serve as a liaison to the Galveston Baptist Association, develop our partnership with 4BDRN, and lead trips to Lebanon. John’s role as Connections and Missions Pastor will officially end January 1, 2020.
