Title: Fear of What it Might Cost

Text: Matthew 2:1-12

Gather your family, meet with a friend, or simply find some time by yourself to open your Bible to Matt. 2:1-12 and answer the following questions.

  1. Who all is involved in this passage and what is each of their roles in the passage?

 

  1. Focus on Matt. 2:12. What might it have cost the wise men to NOT return to King Herod? What motivated them to NOT return to him?

 

  1. Acting in faith can often cause fear in us because of what it might cost. What are some potential costs to acting in faith in your life?

 

  1. Can you remember a time that acting in faith did cost you? If so, are you willing to share that story?

 

  1. If acting in faith comes with a cost, how can we fight against the fear of what it might cost? (HINT: Remember the story about Babe Ruth)
