Dear Church,
I pray this week finds you walking in the shalom of Christ. On Sunday we will finish our series, “Issues We Face.” As you know we have discussed the issues of anxiety, depression, pornography, and sexual abuse. This Sunday we will focus on the issue of wealth. Did you know the typical American makes ten times the income of the typical citizen of the world? Also, most Americans are in the top 1% when it comes to global annual income. For instance, did you know, if your income is $35,000 per year, you are in the top 0.31% of the richest people in the world? It may seem crazy, but I did the homework. It’s true. While wealth may seem like a blessing, Jesus makes this statement: “How difficult it is for those who have wealth to enter the Kingdom of God!” (Luke 18:24).
Let’s talk about the issue of wealth on Sunday. Read Luke 18:18-30 in preparation and come ready to hear from our Lord on what might be our biggest issue. See you at 9:30 or 11:00.
