A: Yes, because Christ’s death on the cross fully paid the penalty for our sin, God graciously imputes Christ’s righteousness to us as if it were our own and will remember our sins no more.

Vertical Truth in Faith – What does this truth mean in my relationship with God?
The simple but weighty fact is that God is perfectly holy and we are not. In order for us to have relationship with God we are in desperate need of our sin debt being paid for. As we are and on our own, we cannot stand before a perfect holy God. We need a redeemer to come “bail us out” of a situation in which we have no ability to redeem ourselves. Jesus is that answer. His death on the cross and resurrection is the only way that we are able to stand as sinners before a holy God and be called His children.
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
The Horizontal Truth in Love – What does this truth mean in my relationship with humanity?
When we recognize the fact that we have been forgiven of all of our sins through Jesus, we should extend that same forgiveness and grace to others. There are circumstances in our lives that make it a battle to forgive, but that is not an excuse. We forgive because we have been forgiven.
Personally, when someone wrongs me, I strive to take a moment to remember what Jesus said when he was on the cross, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” This helps me to put things into perspective and live like Jesus lived with the people around me.
Ephesians 4:32, “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”
Practical Truth in Action – How can I put this truth into action?
This is something that we need to be remembering daily; that God loved us and wanted relationship with us so much, that He sent His son to pay our penalty. It is important to remember and to celebrate what God has done for us. We wake up to new mercies every single day because of what Jesus did!
