Today in the United States, we celebrate MLK day. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a man, husband, father, pastor, and leader whose courageous faith and non-violent, revolutionary spirit brought hope and healing to America. Many years after his tragic death, most inspiring to me, is Dr. King’s legacy, which continues to move American culture toward equal rights for all men and women regardless of skin color. While the United States Constitution is framed in the value of all people created equally granting certain inalienable rights, Martin Luther King found his callings in a higher Text.

“So God created man in his own image. In the image of God he created him, male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27)

I bless God for the leadership and sacrificial life of Dr. King uniting our country around the dignity and rights afforded to all people created in the image of God and valuable in their Maker’s eyes.
