New City Catechism: We’re posting one question and answer, with commentary by one of our pastors or leaders, each week for 2019. Our hope is that you will take the time each week to memorize these questions and answers in an effort to strengthen your biblical knowledge and to “always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” (1 Peter 3:15). To follow along with us visit www.bayarea.church/qna.

Israel Less Strenuous Tour: Register to attend the Israel trip, December 1-12, 2019, that is designed to be “less strenuous.” The vision is to invest in our spiritual mothers and fathers and other pilgrims who have always wanted to go but did not want the difficult hikes. Enjoy the same teaching, most of the same sites, and the same rich experience with God. You will study the Biblical Text in context, and it will change you. Register at https://legacymilestones.com/event/2019-israel-study-tour/.

ServeLink: The TOP FOUR ways we’re asking you to serve on Sunday mornings: Kids, Students, Connections, and Tech Arts. To find out more about how you can serve in one of these areas you can go to www.bayarea.church/go, or download the Bay Area Church app and click serve.

MISSION

BLESSING THE BAY AREA  2019: For the first time, the event will be on a SATURDAY rather than a Sunday. The event date is Saturday, November 9th. We believe this will allow for greater participation and not impose restrictions on the time frame needed to complete a project. Each LifeGroup is encouraged to brainstorm about possible projects and determine a plan of action to secure the project. The only restrictions for project choice is it must be in the 4B Area and you must not be serving a member of our church. The deadline to declare your project is Sunday, October 6and a form will be provided in your LifeGroup packet for that purpose. We have coordinated with the 4B Disaster Response Network to provide hurricane rebuild projects specifically for our groups on Saturday, November 9th. If you are unable to locate a different project, you can default to work on a Harvey rebuild project. If you are not a member of a LifeGroup, you will have the opportunity to join with one in order to participate in this important service to the 4B Area. For additional info contact Kristy Mapp at kristy.mapp@bayarea.church.

First Saturday Serve: In cooperation with the 4B Disaster Response Network, the next First Saturday Serve is coming up on Oct 5. Consider joining other area churches as we assist families still dealing with the destruction of Hurricane Harvey over 19 months ago. For more info and to register to volunteer, go to:  www.4bresponse.org.

SENIOR ADULTS

Senior Connection: Thursday, Sept 19, at 10:30am, in the Student Center Café. Potluck luncheon for our Senior Adults who are 55 years and older. Senior Connection meets every first and third Thursday of the month for devotionals, fellowship, and activities. Guest Speaker, Joel Trevino.

STUDENTS

Student Midweek: Wednesday, 6:30-8:00pm in the Student Center.

KIDMIN

Champion’s Club Update: We want to provide one-on-one staffing at 9:30 and 11. We are also looking for another teacher to serve at 9:30 and an assistant to train with Susan Wollam. Men are needed both hours. If you are interested in serving with Champion’s Club or have a child who would benefit from this ministry, please email cherie.niscavits@bayarea.church. Please allow us the privilege to serve your family in this way! Champion’s Club is for children, 4 years – 6th grade who would benefit from one-on-one support.

Milestone 1: Family Dedication: We will celebrate Milestone 1: Family Dedication on Sunday, Nov. 17 during both services.  In order to participate, one or both parents must attend our MS1 Seminar on Sunday, Oct. 20 @ 11am (or have attended a previous seminar).  Registration is open now at www.bayarea.church/events.

Worship Platform Interest Meeting: If you would like to lead from the platform as a Vocalist or Musician please join us for our Worship Platform Interest Meeting, Sunday, October 13 in the Green Room after the 2nd Service. We hold these twice a year, so if you are interested please be sure to come. If you have any questions, please contact the Worship Office at worship@bayarea.church.
